The Temple of Poseidon is one of Greece's most iconic archaeological sites, dramatically perched on the cliffs of Cape Sounio overlooking the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. Dating back to the 5th century BC, the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views and is considered one of the most spectacular sunset locations in the Mediterranean.
Entrance to the archaeological site is **not included** in the tour price. Tickets can be purchased directly at the entrance upon arrival. The current admission fee is **€20 for adults** and **€10 for eligible reduced-price visitors**, while free admission is available for specific categories in accordance with the regulations of the Greek Ministry of Culture.
During the summer months, Cape Sounio is one of the most popular destinations near Athens, particularly in the late afternoon and at sunset. For the most enjoyable experience, comfortable walking shoes are recommended as parts of the archaeological site feature uneven stone pathways.
